Sept 4, 08

1. Open the round scalloped frame and click Shift + D to duplicate the window.. close the original. When your a beginner to PSP or any graphic program this is a good habit to get into... I lost or messed up some tube in the beginning.. so learned hard way :)

2. Add a new raster layer then drag it down to the bottom on the layer palette.. Fill it with what ever pattern you want.. I included the 'BkgTile.jpg' in the supplies zip if you want to use that to fill this bottom layer you added. *another good habit to get into is to right click on your layers and RENAME them so you will know what they are* In the supplies zip I included a mask open it in PSP and minimize it.

3. Making sure you are on the new filled bottom layer *it should be highlighted on the layer palette* go to LAYERS/ New Mask Layer/From Image

4. Select the minimized mask name from the drop down Source Window. Use the below settings.

5. You should still be on that top mask group layer, see below... right click on it MERGE/MERGE GROUP.

6. With the scallop frame layer highlighted on the layer palette as shown below.. use your MAGIC WAND TOOL and select inside of the frame circle. it should have the marching ants around the center.

7. Go to SELECTIONS/MODIFY/EXPAND

EXPAND the selection 3 pixels.

8. Now select/highlight the mask layer on the layer palette and CUT or DELETE. This should cut out the center part of the mask that's inside the frame. DO NOT UNSELECT YET.

9. Add a new raster layer, drag it to the very bottom of the layer palette, right click on it and RENAME.. to Black Circle. Using your Fill tool, fill the circle selection with black. DO NOT UNSELECT YET.

10. Open the graphic of the couple. Copy and paste on a new layer, make sure the couple layer is ABOVE the black circle layer... go to SELECTIONS/ INVERT then select / highlight the couple layer and CUT/Delete. this will cut the extra outside part of the couple graphic.

Notice below how your project will look.

11. Copy and paste the tube your going to use now. Apply a 3D shadow on it. Settings below.

12. Copy and paste the circle Pearls and place them over the frame.

13. Add a new raster layer and drag to the very bottom of the layer palette.. Flood fill it with WHITE.  This is the bkg.

14. Copy and paste the frame bow that was in the supply zip.. or use your own. Below I used my point to point selection tool to cut off the part of the ribbon that was hanging over the scalloped frame.

15. I copied and pasted all the other elements I wanted onto the project. Looking below.. you can see what my layer palette looked like..

16. The 2 bottom layers were the White bkg layer and the mask layer. I merged DOWN on them as shown below.

17. On the layer palette I HID the merged bkg layer the black circle layer and the couple layer. Then merged all visible with the rest.  UNHIDE all the layers now.. you should have 4 layers there now.. RIGHT??

18.  ADD a new raster layer now.. and rename it TEXT.  Your layer palette should look like below.. if not back track and redo or you will get messed up!!! :)

19. Using white I typed my text on this new layer...

20. Now here is where things get sticky... so follow closely.. Open your Animation Shop. Back in PSP on your project window.. right click on the top and COPY MERGED. Go to the animation shop and right click on its workspace and PASTE AS A NEW ANIMATION.

21. Back to PSP  on your layer palette.. make the TEXT layer 90 % opacity and the couple layer 10 % opacity. Right click on the top of the project window and COPY MERGED again.... go to animation shop.. right click on that new animation your creating and PASTE after current frame

22.  Back to PSP, change the TEXT layer to 80% opacity and the couple layer to 20% opacity.. see the opacity of the  text is going down and the opacity of the couple is coming up.  Right click on the top of the project window and COPY MERGED  go to Animation Shop and right click and PASTE after current frame.. always making sure you just have the last frame highlighted there..

23. Back to PSP  change the TEXT layer to 70% and the couple layer to 30%... COPY MERGE.. go to A.S. and paste after current frame

24. Back to PSP, Change the TEXT to 60% and the couple layer to 40%  COPY MERGED.. back to A.S. and right click and paste after current frame

25. In PSP set the TEXT layer to 50% and the couple layer to 50%  COPY MERGED.. in A.S. paste after current frame.

26. In PSP,  the TEXT layer to 40% and the Couple layer to 60%  COPY MERGED.. in A.S. paste after current frame.

27. In PSP change the TEXT layer to 30% and the Couple layer to 70%. COPY MERGED.. in A.S. right click and paste after current frame.

28. In PSP change the TEXT layer to 20% and the couple layer to 80%.. COPY MERGED.. in A.S. paste after current frame

29. In PSP change the TEXT layer to 0% and the couple layer to 100% COPY MERGED.. in A.S. right click and paste after current layer.

30. In PSP erase the text that's there.. and type in new words if you want.. then COPY MERGED and then back to A.S. and paste after current frame.. you SHOULD have 10 frames now in AS.

31. To change the timing on each frame.. you would right click on each one and go to FRAME PROPERTIES

This is the timing I used for my finished animation.

Frame 1.....100

Frame 2-8.....25

Frame 9.....75

Frame 10.....250

You can use whatever settings you like though.. when done.. SAVE AS a gif and your DONE..
